Hi, I’m Lydia

It’s odd where we find ourselves in life sometimes. Or is it odd to assume that we know our life trajectory?

Any life lived should expect the unexpected, so why are we always surprised? And it is surprising when you don’t get better when unwell. Especially if previously you always recovered.

I noticed the headaches first. They would hang around for days at a time before disappearing. Then came the loose bowels and fatigue. This was the new normal for a few years until the tipping point. Like a switch, the brain fog appeared one sunny Saturday morning. And since that morning I threw myself into finding the off button.

The human body is elegantly made and great at adapting to new environments. Normally we take this for granted and don’t even notice; until it gets chronically stuck on a particularly unfavourable note. Just like my chronic Lyme-like symptoms. Through trial and error, I was forced to find ways to heal myself. And serendipity bringing along the right people at the right time.

Ultimately my persistence and curiosity fashioned a solution (or many small solutions) from different sources: herbal medicine, diet and lifestyle changes, nutritional supplements, acupuncture, naturopathy, Ayurveda, evidence-based medicine, and nutrigenomics. A blend of traditional and mainstream medicine.

So this is where I arrive weaving a practice from all my experiences, influences, and training. Acknowledging and thanking all those that helped along the way, you know who you are. And supporting those that may find themselves unwittingly in this stuck state.

Stay inspired, curious, and creative!
